John Ekblom is an American Urban Folk artist whose
passion for people, art and relationships can be seen in his vividly colored paintings. John has studied art in both New
York and Florida.
"Grace, Gals and Glamour" is Johns latest endeavor. His renditions of women, typically in groups
of three, depict the color, companionship, and passion of girls...through a mans eyes. "Women have been painted in many different
ways by men over the vast history of art...from the full bodied girls of Rubens and Botero, to Gaugins island women, and even
to Jessica Rabbit and Blondie." I think my girls are kind of a mix of every painting of a woman I have seen and I try to
make them whimsical, spicy, and unapologetic."
John is currently showing at Cafe TuTu Tango
in Orlando, where he is a resident artist. John Ekblom's art has been featured on TV and in local newspapers and
magazines and in private collections in the United States and overseas.
